Seriously, though, nothing completely new in that -- everyone working in Social Media now is saying pretty much the same things. The only totally new thing I heard was about Google ranking influence. That is so mind-bogglingly crazy, though, that I can't even imagine how they would go about that.
If "influence" is defined as the number of visitors to a particular site, then the easiest way to do it would be to have the number of clicks on a search result affect its ranking. This would open the door to so much abuse, though, that it seems unworkable.
If "influence" is some measure of control that someone has over a group of people (i.e. Blogger A says "Nobody buy from Amazon" and all of Blogger A's audience immediately stop buying from Amazon), I have no idea how that could be ranked. Even if it could be, though, is that really going to open the door to eBay-style auctions for endorsements by people listed in "Google's Most Influential"?
Just my thoughts...
